"Terrible for service"
no stars .. we didnt even eat. after waiting outsilde in the cold for ages we finally got a seat and the guy looking after our table had so much attitude they we had to get up and leave. i wanted to ask to waiter for some garlic bread as i was so hungry and the bitchy guy just said .. 'we dont have garlic bread' in a really rude tone while walking away. we called him over to say that was a bit rude and he said no it wasnt ... he kept questioning us to a point where we were so uncomfortable we had to leave.

"Pizza Mario will save you a trip to Haberfield"
For a relatively new establishment, Pizza Mario already has a great reputation for the quality of their food. As a result, there was a 40 minute wait to get a table for two when I went - a Friday. However, after seeing what was on the tables, we opted for takeaway over a second rate dinner somewhere else.
The 10 minute wait to get our two pizza was truly worth it. The pizza are woodfired which, combined with a really good dough makes an amazing base: flat and thin in the middle with a fluffy and crusty edge. The toppings are basic, but of the highest quality. No overload of meats, cheese or soggy base, and the size is just right for one person. I agree that Pizza Mario is on the pricey side but this is no cheap Pizza; this is Italian food the way it should be.
On another note, the waiting staff was really courteous and cheerful despite the rather busy environment.

"Pizza worth returning for"
I have to admit, I love pizza. A good pizza is something that is hard to come by, but when it does, is much appreciated. Now you might think that pizza is pizza but you are dead wrong. There is pizza and then there is PIZZA. The first is commonly found in the US and goes by the name of "Pizza Hut" or "Dominoes." The latter is found in hole in the walls or Italy.
Pizza Mario serves the latter type of pizza. It has actually been certified by some board in Italy saying that they make authentic pizza. I guess whether you like it or not is up to you. If you like greasy pizza that oozes cheese, don't go here because you won't find it. What you will find is a crispy crust that doesn't taste too much like dough and gourmet toppings that are actually interesting. There are daily specials on the blackboard that they usually sell out of if you don't get there early enough.
A star off because it's not exactly cheap. A cheap pizza there costs about $18 and can be finished by one person, if they are hungry.
