It might seem strange to recommend a pub for mums so I think I'll have to explain my passion about the 3 weeds!!!

With the baby boom going on in Sydney at the moment (anyone been mown down by a three wheel stroller lately?), there are thousands of women who've just had a baby (or two, or three) after years of travelling, eating out and generally making merry.

These women (including me) are now quite possibly spending 90% of our time doing laundry, mushing up pumpkin and getting up 4 times a night to tend to baby. This means that the 10% of time which can be classed as freetime is now precious. It has to give us a taste of our old life while also accommodating our new life. This is why we love the 3 weeds! The pub has nice wide doors so even my friend with a double stroller can easily get in!

They also have a couple of carpeted lounges that you can easily make your own by lining up the strollers to barricade the kids in. The chairs are all soft and comfy with no pointy bits for toddlers to scone themselves on. There is a clean change-room and the staff are relaxed about having a few toddlers running around in one corner of the pub. This is fantastic given we have probably left the odd bit of squished up cheese sandwich in our wake on previous visits. And last but not least, the bar meals are great value- huge portions for reasonable prices- and breastfeeding women need big portions!

The 3 weeds its now one of our regular places for a weekday mums meet up.
So if you're looking for love, a weekday at the 3 Weeds is probably not a good place to look for it. But if you're a mum looking for someone great to spend her free hour- come join us!

Great pub. I finally strolled into this place one day having driven past it many times in the past. I was literally taken back when I walked in. It was 10 times better than I imagined it would be. The furnishing in this place is great. And it's huge. It looks like a small corner pub from the outside and then it opens up into several rooms with a separate restaurants out the back too.

If I was local, this would be my local without a doubt.

We discovered the 3 Weeds Bar after attending an event in Rozelle and was really surprised that I hadn't heard about this little gem previously. It is a lot bigger inside than what it looks like from the front facade.

The front bar has a casual atmosphere, the bar at the back is a little more atmospheric with great decor and fantastic bar food and there is also an a-la-carte restaurant to the side. There really is something for everyone at this place.

The night we there it was quite busy and our food came up surprisingly quickly and tasted great.

I'll definitely be going back again soon.

This was once a regular haunt of mine when I lived in Leichhardt - great food both in the restaurant and at the bar ....

Trivia for the day - I believe it used to be one fine music establishment before the makeover and if my memory serves me correct - the chaise lounges are from an auction of the Art Gallery of NSW furniture and the floor is the original?!?!
