"Simply amazing for Portuguese Custard Tarts"
Ignore the review below, they have got to be joking. The people who run this place have to be some of the friendliest in the area. The owners remember you, ask how you are, what you are up to... and then the next time you pop in, they remember what you were up to last time and the conversation continues. Aside from the personalised service, the cakes are absolutely amazing. Especially the Portuguese Custard Tarts - 'Pasteis de Nata'. I think I am addicted. They also have a cake which is an Almond Sponge cake, it is soooo moist and sooo tasty. It seems to be a thriving business. I think has not only to do with the great food but also the very friendly and energetic people that are behind the business. Thank you.

"Simply amazing for good quality & well priced Portuguese cakes & pastries"
I used to live in Lisbon. We found this place by accident while walking around Bondi. What a lovely suprise, We called in for a Prawn Pie & went back for coffee burgers & cakes. Genuinely friendly staff & wonderful fresh homemade food. The Portuguese chicken burgers are amazing & their coffee & pastries just like being back in portugal. Highly recommended !

"Sailing to perfection - Pastelaria Caravela; A place with the Mighty Tart."
Have you ever been enticed into a place, just by the sheer energy pulsating out of it?
Well, when you step into Pastelaria Caravela, not only do you get smiles galore from the sexy barista, but a tempting, colourful and scrumptious array of cakes, slices, pastries, savouries, small cakes and most importantly, Portuguese tarts.
The family owned patisserie/café opened up in the last week of February this year, and the business has exploded, attracting more and more regulars, aka people-with-good-taste.
On offer, there are over 100 delights, and if they’re not in store, they can be ordered by the customer. Everything is baked on the premises, so customers enjoy a crispy fresh taste and superb coffee, made by Diogo Ferreira, mentioned earlier.
A fine, light décor sets the uplifting mood, as well as a funky beat in the background, adding to the vibrant essence of the place. The café will undoubtedly leave you in a good mood and joyous taste buds. And with coffee being a mere $2.50, how can you go wrong? The café received a mention in the Sydney Morning Herald, accompanied by a rave about the wonder of the deliciousness of the famous Portuguese tarts on offer.
The superfine pastry and incredible coffee is enough to make anyone travel the lengths of the earth, however there’s no need as Pastelaria Caravela is centrally located in Bondi Junction. So if you’re looking for a place to relax and treat yourself, indulge in the wonder that is Pastelaria Caravela.
