I can only review the Friend in Hand Hotel its Wednesday nights. Crab racing night. I haven't been there any other time as this night is bonkers enough as it is!

A great establishment, lots of fun and massive variety of people - workers, students, backpackers. Everyone is up for a laugh (even the cockatoo).

It's Wednesday night and you'll go home laughing at the name you gave your crab, wondering why you're blind drunk and also why your clothers are soaking wet. And yes, you will get wet.

Do it.

The Friend In Hand Hotel is a great place to take people from overseas or out of town, especially on Wednesday nights when they do the crab racing. Prepare to get drunk and wet. The Landlord is absolutely crazy and loves everyone to have a good time. There is also a friendly cockatoo that walks around the pub and then he goes to sleep in the cage when the pub is busiest (go figure!).

No Names Restaurant at the back of the pub serves pasta and other simple Italian dishes if you feel like a quick, cheap meal before the night's festivities.

If you are easily offended, then best to give the crab racing a miss, but it is still worth going in for a drink another time to check out all the different signs and nik-naks the Landlord has collected over the years.

Worth a visit, if for no other reason than to watch back-packers get blind drunk and fall over. Crab racing is good fun with good friends.
