"Good for movies and a meal with a twist."

Got treated to dinner and a film here last week. I don't think I've ever eaten a full vegetarian meal...and I might just be a convert. It was good! Love the lounge/bed style seating. Much less $ than your gold class seating in the major cinemas...you can't go wrong. I'll be back....(not said in an Arni voice. Oh go on then).

"Something Different"

Govinda's web site states the following about their restaurant and cinema:

"Govindas is an edgy Sydney inner city restaurant, famous worldwide for its delicious international vegetarian buffet, warm friendly ambience and ultra comfortable boutique cinema, The Movie Room. Here guests enjoy a sumptuous vegetarian meal and then sink into luxurious cushions to watch the best of world cinema in blissful, heavenly comfort".

I couldn't have put it better myself!

Govinda's is the perfect place for a chilled out evening and great for a romantic date. The food is delicious and they play both mainstream and arthouse films. Choose from lounges or more upright seating in the cinema.

They also have a 'Lotus Room' where yoga, meditation, chanting, vegetarian cooking and various other workshops are held.

The Buddhist/Indian influence and style is really calming. It is something different and I highly recommend giving it a try.

"Curry and a movie - what could be better...."

Govinda's is an excellent concept. Great vegetarian food (and this is coming from a meat eater) followed by a movie where you get to lie down on comfortable cushions and watch it. It's also very easy to fall asleep so i'd recommend not watching something that's not too long and drawn out!!

"Movie Masala"

I’d heard a lot about Indian vegetarian food and always wished to taste it. And I was glad I came here. The ambience was so India. And the food tasted so good. I was eating healthy food after a very long time. And it felt good too.

There are movie beds which are so much fun. Make sure you’re there on time to get comfortable on the beds and enjoy the movie. But every good news is followed by a bad one. So here it is. No alcohol allowed here.

But, I’ll give forgive them for the wonderful food they serve.
